Post-op update

Just wanted to update those following my family... Becca had her tonsils and adenoids removed today, along with tubes being put into her ears. From what the Dr told us, it was definately needed. I guess her left ear was full of fluid and pus behind the eardrum and the eardrum had actually ruptured at some point in the recent past and was showing signs of healing well. The adenoids were very large, the left one was blocking the eustachain tube and had pus on it also. Her tonsils and adenoids showed signs of chronic infection and were sure in need of being removed. As a parent you always second guess if you have made the right decision or not, it is nice to have the reassurance from the Dr that it truly was necessary to put Becca through the surgery. She came through it all pretty well, was not happy at all this morning before surgery and came out of it just as feisty, all of the staff that we talked to said the same thing, she is a feisty little lady. Tonight she has been enjoying popsicles and sips of pop, she wants nothing to do with the tylenol with codeine, oh well, as long as regular tylenol controls her discomfort, I am fine with that. We go back to see the Dr in about 10 days and will get her hearing checked at that time to ensure the eardrum rupture did no permanment damage. The Dr seemed surprised she hadn't complained more about her ears in the past, she must be a tough little feisty lady. Thanks to all for the well wishes and prayers, we appreciate everything. I'll update with Christmas pics soon, maybe tomorrow, just no energy tonight anymore. Take care y'all.

I think kids become all to used to chronic pain - my Abby isn't a complainer either... Glad it went well and that she enjoys popsicles!

Glad to hear she is doing well. Hope she makes a quick recovery. I'm sure she will. I'm glad to hear she was feisty, Noah was so feisty after his surgery. Noah wouldn't take T3 either, it tastes terrible. Keep us updated on how she's healing.
