Fall fun

As you can see from the picture, we had a fun night trick or treating. The ghoulies in the picture are, from the left, Joey the Ninja, Spiderman Mason, Cleopatra Rebecca, Wolverine Kade, and Skeletal Andrew.

We started our night at my parents, where this is what crept out of the closet to spook the kids...

My dad loves dressing up to scare the kids and share in the Halloween revelry. He also went in this costume to the local bar that evening and noone ever did guess who the ghillie suit ghoul was. I wish you could have seen Becca's eyes when she saw this goblin coming at her in Grandma's house, she took several steps back before she realized it was Grandpa.

After visiting Grandma and Grandpa, it was time to head to town, to Mamaw and Papaw's house (Rich's parents). The kids had fun going door to door, all getting a huge stash of candy. My kids had all been sick the week before, so we actually tuckered out before Kade and Mason did, if you can believe that! Great job boys!

The week before Halloween, I took the kids to the local Corn Maze, something we have always wanted to do, but had never had the time to. We really enjoyed getting lost in the maze, too bad it was very wet, muddy, and starting to get dark. I would love to go back either this fall yet or next fall and spend time exploring. We had fun trying to find our way around, each kid thought they knew the right way to go. We took turns leading, never getting to all the numbered posts, only backtracking to the same posts we had already been at. Sorry the pictures are a little blurry, I couldn't seem to get the kids to stand still long enough for a picture.

Hope everyone is enjoying this beautiful time of year, especially the few days of sunshine we see here and there. Today is one such day...the sun is shining, there is a slight breeze, I have the windows open to enjoy the fresh air, and I have off of work for the weekend. Life is good.
