Ok, this post is going to be totally random, for that I'll apologize right away. It's been awhile since I posted, so I thought I would try to update life, for any followers that have been checking.
Becca's cast came off on Nov 3, she is back to walking and playing normally...except for a slight limp and a slightly skewed step, which we are keeping an eye on. It is soooo nice to have her back to being independent, back to being her normal, playful self. She is loving being able to do her own thing, not having to wait for someone to help her.
Here is a quick Becca story to share (sorry to those that have already heard this). Becca got her ears pierced the week before she broke her leg. She has been terrified of changing her earrings, fearing that it would hurt as much to change the earring as it did to get the initial piercing. This past Sunday, she scratched the back of one ear, causing it to bleed. Rich and I decided that we had to get the earrings out at that point and give her ears a good cleaning. Well, unfortunately, Rich had to totally restrain her while I removed them. We both felt terrible putting her through that, but it had to be done. A little later, she was sitting on my bathroom floor, crying and carrying on because she was now scared about putting the new ones in. I couldn't help but laugh as she puts her head into her hands, sobbing and fussing, and says..."Mom, I just am scared. Why is life so hard?" This coming from a 6 yr old! Becca is such a drama queen at times, I told her after that comment that I thought she should someday be an actress. Just had to share.
Oh, she still is scared of changing the earrings again, even after bribing with new Christmasy earrings.
I cannot believe the amount of snow we have already received this year! We got walloped with a blizzard a couple of weeks ago, our town received over 14 inches of snow in a 24 hr period. The kids are loving it, playing outside, sledding and building forts. It took Rich 3 hrs on the tractor to clear our road after that round. We have had 2 other significant snow falls since then, which amounts to alot of snow. I am not a fan of winter in the first place, this is just making it more so.
Hope everyone has a nice Christmas. I'll post after the holidays with pictures of our celebrations. Happy holidays to all, and to all a good night!
