Tonight Rich and I decided to go out for supper tonight, without the kids. Normally when we do venture out, we go to the same restaurants, one of the three or four that we like. My husband isn't always very adventurous, so tonight he really surprised me. Rich had discovered a newer place in town, his coworkers had been talking about it and he had tried a similar spot last time he was out of town on a conferance. It is a japanese hibachi restaurant, something I had never tried before. I have to say, it was wonderful, almost like dinner and entertainment rolled into one. Once we were seated, a waitress took our order and then the chef walked out, pushing a cart of supplies with him. We were seated around this table, with a grill in the middle. The chef proceeded to chop and cook our meal, right in front of us! He even flicked a few bites our way, which the men caught in their mouths (the women failed). The food was great, we had steak and chicken stirfry. All in all, I have to thank my husband for the neat experience, was fun, tasty, and I will definately go again.
A couple of weekends ago, I planted some flowers outside, with Stacy's help. Today, I picked a couple of the lilies and brought them into the house to enjoy. The flowers are huge!
The kids have been into playing on the computer, Becca especially.
My other piece of exciting news, at least for me, is that I have officially finished my huge project, the creating of our family tree. Well, it may be exciting to those of you who have had to listen to me ramble on about it also. I picked up the first 10 copies of my book, yes book, today. It was surprising to me how it looked, so formal and complete, compared to how I have seen it over the past several months. I have to say, I am really proud of my finished project, hopefully it is something that others will appreciate also. It is 87 pages long and includes over 30 pictures.
School is out for my kiddos this friday, they have a half day only. I leave that same day for a girls' weekend in Door County. Andrew leaves Sunday for 4 days at Porcupine Mt with the boy scouts. Whew, our busy summer has finally arrived.
