Vacation, part 2

Wow, I took a lot of pictures while on vacation! I'll try to narrow down, you probably don't want to see all 500 pics. A highlight for Becca, was spending a whole afternoon on the beach in Muskegon. She is our little mermaid, loving water and begging to swim constantly. Here, the pictures speak for themselves.

We came away from that afternoon a little sunburned and a whole lot relaxed.

Another favorite stop was the sand dunes of Sleeping Bear Dunes State Park. Maybe I enjoyed the scenery more than the rest of my family, but it was gorgeous. This was our first view, you can just see the giant dunes out in the distance.

We stopped for a picnic lunch while in this park, here is the view we got to enjoy while eating.

There is something there called The Dune Climb, which of course the kids HAD to try.

See those two little specks, about halfway up? That is Joey and Andrew. Yes, the dune was HUGE!

The boys had to stop and rest. Once they reached the top, they discovered it wasn't the top...there were two more hills to climb before reaching the peak and the great view of Lake Michigan. The lake itself was another 2 miles of hiking, and no, we didn't make it that far. In fact, Rich and I waited at the bottom and let the kids do the climg, it was really hot!

Here comes Andrew, running full-on down the dune. Joey took his time and walked down, he said it was too hot to run.

In Mackinaw City, our hotel was right on a little beach, which opened up into the Mackinac Straits. Guess who had to try it out, at sunset of course.

We had the beach pretty much to ourselves.

Joey tried to give me a pose.

Becca put a little more into it! (I love this picture, just oozes her personality)

Ok, enough picture for tonight. I will post the next batch tomorrow. Make sure you scroll down to see the first installment, if you haven't already.
