Zoo fun!

This past week, Rich and Andrew were in Canada on their yearly fishing trip. I took off of work and spent the week enjoying Joey and Becca. We decided we wanted to take an overnight trip, so we went up to Apple Valley, MN and explore the Minnesota Zoo.


Here are some of our favorite animals...


This lynx pawed at Becca through the glass, she was impressed!







This bear was just playing in the water, was very interactive with the kids along the glass.







We spent a lot of time at Discovery Bay, an interactive area where the kids could touch several different marine animals. Both Joe and Becca loved reaching in and touching the leopard sharks!


These two gibbons were extremely loud, their cries echoed through the indoor exhibit. We enjoyed listening to the different sounds they made and how effortless they made their loud cries seem.


We took a monorail ride and viewed the large animals from above and then walked the trails and saw them upclose. We also took in a bird show and a dolphin show. What a fun overnight escape we had!
