what we have been up to

OK, Susie, here is an update for you, since you have been asking for one. What have we been doing for the past week or so? Let's see, Joey had his Pinewood Derby for Cub Scouts. He and his Dad worked quite hard on his racer, recognize the car?

Joey did a great job making his car, he won third place in the derby, with only three thousandths of a second between first and third place!

He also was able to finally receive some of his hard earned badges, isn't he just a card?!


Remember last fall when I found what I thought was bear scat? Turns out it maybe could be! Why do I think it is possible? Here's why....

I took these pictures just 5 miles from home, out my car window. I did have to use my maximum camera zoom, which is why they are a little blurry, but yes, that is a big black bear. Rich keeps saying what is the huge deal, but to me it is impressive. I have never before seen bears in this area, so it is a novelty to have a wild bear close enough that I can take his picture.

I will keep everyone posted, especially if I see him any closer to home.


We also went to play at Kid's Coulee on Saturday, for the first time this spring. It was cool, but the kids had a lot of fun running off some excess energy. Here Andrew was trying to avoid the camera, but I caught him, somewhat.

Andrew also was having fun bouncing some little boys that were at the park. What a great big brother he is, even to other kids.


Here is my monkey, Joey, showing how he likes to climb on the bars named after him. Isn't he adorable?

Becca also was having fun playing, she is just so naturally adorable.


Can't think of much else going on this past week, it just seemed to go so quickly. I will try to update again soon, I promise.
