Let's see, where was I? Oh, yeah, dreaming of California and those terrific waves. While I was at my conferance, Rich took the car for the remainder of our 24 hr rental and headed north again. He went back to Cardiff and explored the beach, only this time it was high tide. Those same rocks and sand that we walked on, were now covered in waves.
He drove to the Torrey Pines Golf Course, almost played a round but decided it was too much money. He did buy himself a hat from there though, as a momento. He continued north until he reached Oceanside, a town I can't wait to see for myself! The waves were even bigger, there were surfers and this long pier, with a restaurant at the end. My understanding is this pier about 20 or more feet long. Sounds heavenly to me.
After my conferance that day, we caught a pedi-cab and got a quick tour of the Seaport area along the harbor. The driver/biker dropped us off at the FishMarket Restaurant for supper and then we walked home. What a beautiful area it is there.
The San Diego harbor is a major port of call for the cruise ship industry. This one was getting ready to leave as we ate supper.
The tall ship, Star of India, also makes it home at the harbor. I think it looks pretty cool with the sun behind it.
Then we loved the sunset with the aircraft carrier, USS Midway, in the foreground.
Stay tuned for day 3 adventures.
