Andrew had his physical today, he needed to have an updated physical on file for scouts. He has definately inherited my needle phobia! He found out he had to get immunizations and just about ran out of the room. It took a lot of convincing and a little bribery to get him to stay put. Sorry, Nurse Barb, for the attitude he gave you. If he had had his way, he would have slugged the nurse when she was done, he was furious that she had given him 3 shots within a few seconds, all in the same arm. Andrew would have preferred to have gotten down in between shots, but we knew he would never sit back down for the remainder of them. Then of course he complained that his arm was numb and sore afterward, I had to buy some advil for him to take to camp. I hope your arm doesn't slow you down, Andrew. I remember when I was little and needed a "hypo" just prior to surgery, it took 3 nurses and my mom to hold me down for that one shot in my backside. You would never had known my jaw was broke at the time!
Andrew is at his first weekend camp without Rich along, I think I am more nervous about it than he is. The weather is cold, rainy/snowy, and windy, makes for a fun campout, right? When Andrew told Rich and I about possibly doing a Polar Plunge this weekend, Rich's comment was "You'll freeze your nuts off" and Andrew replied "That's what the fire is for afterward". My mental image is from the Disney movie Legends, and the story of Paul Bunyon and Babe the Blue Ox. Babe is frozen solid (which is why he is blue) and Paul scoots him over a fire to thaw out. As Babe unthaws, he slowly sinks down and lands on the fire. I pictured Andrew frozen solid and straddling a fire to thaw his nuts out. Thanks for that image Rich.

(hope the link works, the part about Babe is at the end of the video)
Enjoy your weekend, everyone.
