Wow, that is cold!

I saw something last night on my way home from work that really surprised me, something that I have never before seen and hope to never see again. What did I see, you ask? A thermometer reading of -30F on my van. Yes, you are reading it correctly, that is 30 below, without the windchill factored in. When I was leaving town, my van read -6, then as I was about to pull into my garage, I looked at the thermometer again and couldn't believe my eyes, -30! Needless to say, the kids are off of school again today, second day related to the nasty, dangerous cold. I think today we will go out and about, running a couple of errands, maybe take in a movie, anything to get out of the house a bit. They were cooped up all day yesterday, not able to burn much energy off, so we'll see what we can come up with today. I believe it is forecasted to warm up this afternoon, finally.
