Happy Mother's Day!

Happy Mother's day to all those who already are moms, those who will soon be moms, and those who are hoping to become a mom! Happy mother's day to my mom, my mother-in-law, and my grandmother-in-law. It is also on this day that I really think of my birth mother, I wonder if she thinks of me, if she celebrates mother's day, if she is a mother to any other kids. Thank you for having the strength to give me up for adoption and giving me a chance to lead the blessed life I have now.

Even on the craziest days, days when all three kids are ornery and fighting with each other, I still love being a mom, I wouldn't change it for anything. I am so blessed to be able to be a mom, something that I take for granted too often. Thank you Andrew, Joseph, and Rebecca for being the best kids ever, I love each of you so much. Today, my kids each had made a nice card and Rich got me a gift certificate for a foot and hand massage, YEAH! I didn't have the best of days, between working both Sat and Sun night and not getting much sleep. Rich started out volunteering to work a 4 hr shift last night and then ended up being ordered to stay over and help with a bad situation and finally got home at 3pm after a 16 hr shift. Then he was emotionally wound up and couldn't sleep, finally went to sleep at 7pm, I got the kids down by eight and was able to sleep until midnight. A co worker was nice enough to stay over until 1 so I could sleep for a couple of extra hours, thank you Sue! In the morning now the kids will all be gone so I can finally sleep.

I had planned on getting pictures of both grandmas with the kids and sharing them, but the day just didn't work that way. Hopefully soon, I can get these pictures, just for my own record and to share with the world. I am blessed with a wonderful mother, who is not only my mother but also my friend. She is my support and my counsel many days, it is great that I am finally at a point in life where I can also be her support and sounding board when needed. I also have a terrific mother-in-law who is always there for us and is definately not your "typical" mother-in-law. She is loving and fun, she doesn't put up with her son's attitudes, she is a hip young grandma who can still get down and dance. Becca has learned to "shake her booty" like Mamaw does and has a lot of her Mamaw's personality. Rich says that sometimes it is scary how much like his mom and sister Becca is.

Again, Happy Mother's Day to all!

Hi Sue,

Hope you finally get some restful sleep. Thanks for sharing this post as it really touched my heart. Thanks for also wishing a happy mothers day to all the "hope to be" moms as I fall in that group and mothers day is one of the hardest of the year for me, so thank you for just saying that and not making "us" all feel less b/c we are not mothers. It really touched my heart Sue, so Thanks. Getting tearful as I write this, b/c I'm appreciative of your post and what you shared and you know how I feel about adoption, so it just touched my heart. Have a great day. See you at work soon..probaly this week as I am nights..
