Family fun

Today we had our big family 4th of July party. It is mainly my brother's party but we always have some friends come also. We had probably about 150 people total come through, lots of kids, all enjoying the beautiful weather. I promised you pictures of the slip-n-slide. Here they are. I hope these do justice to the size of it.

Compare the size of the kids running up the hill to the size of the tarps. That is a mom standing next to the slide, waiting to take pictures.

This is the view from the same spot to the end of the slide. Notice the mattress around the trees, is it protecting the trees from kids or kids from trees, hmmm? Also notice the slight incline at the end, after the mud pool? Beyond that incline is a 3-5 ft drop to a rocky little stream. Needless to say, we yelled "Bail off!" several times today to remind kids to not go over.

You can see the kids, patiently waiting at the top for their turn down.

Here is Joey, one of his million times down the slide.

Of course my biggest "kid" had to also have a turn or two. My brother had snuck up behind Rich and coated his bottom with soap, makes a person slide really fast. Here he is saying "Oh s---, I can't stop!" He and his buddy went down several times, giving us all a laugh at the mud monsters they became.

We also have a huge pile of sand for the kids to play in. The water from the slide drains down towards the sand pile, adding to the fun for the kids.

Becca and friend enjoying the sand. We are the king/queen of the hill!!

Andrew and Joey damming up the water. They are actually clean here yet.

Hope everyone is having a good weekend.

Oh, how fun, fun, fun! I wish I could've been there to experience that huge slide! I love the picture of Rich not being able to stop!

I'm still going to keep the 'tag' game going, just haven't had much time online lately!
