Over the last couple of days, we have been quite busy with many friends and family. On Thursday, Becca and I went to a birthday party for my friend and co-worker, Stacy, and 3 little girls that are very special in her life. They all share July birthdays, so a joint party was a great idea. Becca had so much fun, there just are not enough little girls in our life for her to play with.
Here are the little birthday girls...Kaylee, Kaitlyn, and Ayla.
Becca had to help the girls open their presents. Stacy is the other birthday girl, also helping them open presents.
Becca was performing for everyone. She was dancing her "hula hula" on this surfboard-like stand. I had to stand close because the surfboard rocked, but she sure had fun and had everyone laughing. Becca definately was not shy that day!
Another day last week, Rich was mowing grass and Joey came inside with a "present" to surprise me with. Just what I wanted by my ear, thanks Joey.
"Crikey, look at this little blighter"
On Friday evening, Joey, Becca, and I went to Camp Decorah to pick up Andrew from scout camp. He was tired, very suntanned, and full of mosquito bites, but he had fun and can't wait until next year. He was too cool to give me a kiss or hug there, but Becca got to walk holding hands and stand by him in line. The next morning at home Andrew finally gave me a great big hug and kiss and wanted to snuggle a little bit. Welcome home, Andrew.
Saturday we had family reunion for my mom's side, lots of fun. Everyone was so happy to hang out together and just relax. The kids all had so much fun on the slip and slide. The sandbox with its muddy/watery area next to it was also a very big hit. Several of my adult cousins spent just as much time on the slide as the younger kids did, it was a blast! We couldn't talk my one uncle into going this year (he had went a lot last year). He said that it took him 2 weeks to recover last year. We had a huge bonfire in the evening and several people slept overnight. My brother got one of my cousins, who has lived in Madison all of his life, out in the woods at 3am, banging 2 sticks together, trying to "snipe" hunt. For the many of you who don't know, snipes are imaginary birds that can only be hunted in the dark of night. Right. I guess Andy said, "Oh, yeah, I saw that once on the Discovery Channel". Sure you did, Andy. From what I hear, Andy had just been telling everyone how it was so hard to pull tricks on him, that he had never been "had". Guess what, Andy, you have now been "had". Can't wait till next year to see how long it took him to figure out he was tricked. This reunion has a better attendance every year and more people really are looking forward to it. It is nice to see the second (and third) generation just as highly in attendance as the first.
Hope everyone had a nice weekend and enjoyed the weather!
