Today was Joey's 8th birthday, happy birthday, Monkeybutt! (Yeah, I know, not a flattering nickname, but he always laughs when I call him that) Joey is just my sweetheart. He always used to be my "wildchild" but has settled down so much as he has gotten older. He still has a wild side, loves to wrestle and roughhouse, and is like the energizer bunny, just keeps going and going. He still loves to snuggle with me, but with anybody else, he is pretty stingy with the physical affection. My mom has learned to take a hug from Joey when he offers it, you may not get another offer from him. He has this smile that just lights up his face, prefers to do facial contortions to get his glasses where they belong on his little face rather than use his hands, and just is very independent in his playing. He is, as he always tells me, very "unique". Yes Joey, you are unique and I love you for it.
Joey received a new bike from Rich and I, he is so proud of it!
We had my side of the family over tonight for his birthday, thanks everyone for the great presents. Next weekend we will have Rich's side over and have another little birthday party. Joey is just so easy going, he is always up for anything. Love ya, sweetheart!
This weekend we also were busy with baseball games for Andrew. He had a tournament and ended up playing in three games. In the second game, he got two runs and ended up being the winning run coming in. He also was nominated team captain for the the last game, because of his extra effort in the previos game. Then after the last game, he was chosen by his coach to get to keep the captain's hat, as the one team member who had shown the most improvement throughout the season. Way to go, Andrew! We are so proud of you!
Getting ready to swing.
Perfect picture of one of his hits.
Looking oh, so cool with his team.
One last photo op of Andrew's team.
My friend, Stacy, came to the game with the twins, Kaylee and Kaitlyn. Becca had a blast playing with the girls. The girls had talked Stacy into bringing fingernail polish along, so of course all three girls had to have their toes polished.
The girls, each waiting their turn.
Three sets of piggies, looking so pretty.
Joey spent his time playing in the sand. This was his "forest" that he planted in the sand.
Joey also spent much time playing on the play equipment with Becca and the girls.
Our girls: Becca, Kaylee, and Kaitlyn. Dirty and tired after an evening of playing in the sands.
