All of you know how I am a country girl, through and through. I love living in the country for many reasons, tonight I am enjoying one of the reasons. The kids are tucked in, the animals are quiet, and I have several windows open in the living room here. I can hear the crickets singing, an occasional whipperwil (?) singing its song. I just love these sounds, I always have. These are the sounds I grew up with, that have been my lullabies most of me life. What noises at night did you all grow up with? What are you hearing at night now? I lived for a short time in towns, and had to get used to hearing cars and sirens all night. That was a hard adjustment for me, probably the hardest part of moving out after I was married was the different sounds at night. Getting used to married life was easy, it was the getting used different sounds and having neighbors so close. I wish I could record these sounds, clearly enough to share with all of you. Oh, yeah, a sound a forgot, the occasional coyote howls, answered by my dogs.
Tonight Rich is sleeping, after being up this morning after working all night. until 130. He will probably sleep until he goes back in at 11 tonight. I took the kids out for supper and they talked me into driving up to Westby and showing Andrew our new " Rocky Park". They had a ton of fun climbing and playing there. Tonight I had my camera with and tried to catch a few more pictures. Of course the boys were too busy climbing to pose for pictures, but I tried. Becca was only to happy to strike a pose. The pictures are a little dark, again, but it was quite dark and dreary out tonight and was starting to get dark early. I did play with the pictures a little, trying to brighten them up, but it resulted in changing the color of the kids' clothes. Sorry if they look a little goofy. Eventually I will get back there and get some good pictures with sunlight. I promise.
Do you see the size of these granite boulders?
The kids start swim lessons tomorrow, Andrew and Becca are both really excited, they really enjoy the lessons. Joey says he doesn't like them, except for when he gets to go off the diving board. We take lessons at the same time as some of our great friends, Pam and her 3 boys, which makes it all the more fun. Hopefully we will be able to do lunch or something afterward with them, sort of a reward for doing well in lessons. Then on Sunday, Andrew has to serve mass while Becca goes to Sunday Preschool. She is really excited about going to more preschool, while Joey is excited to get Mom to himself during church. Then in the afternoon, we have a Celebration of Life, sort of a funeral wake, for my mom's brother-in-law. He has been quite ill for some time, at our family reunion this summer he actually told everyone he was staying as long as he could, because he knew this would be his last. In the end, he made the decision with his doctor, to stop the antibiotics and kidney dialysis, and let nature finish its' course. I pray he is now at peace, no more pain, and that his family will be at peace also.

I also love the nights sounds in the country. The whipperwils are my favorite. I love the pictures from the new park, looks like a lot of fun.
I'm so sorry about your Mom's brother in law. It's so hard to see them go, but it's good to know he's at peace now. And not in anymore pain.
