Door County lighthouses

Door county is well known for the many lighthouses that were used in the past and many still relied upon today. While we were there, we had the opportunity to visit and photograph several of them.
These are the different views of the Canal St Lighthouse. It is still a working Coast Guard station and our access was limited. We could see this lighthouse from "our" beach, just barely, along with the foghorn building and the bouy markers that marked the shipping channel.

Our first view of the lighthouse, at sunset.

Walking onto the Coast Guard property. Our first close up look at the lighthouse.

The view from the other side of the lighthouse.

A closer look at the foghorn/channel marker.

Cana Island Lighthouse, built in 1882, I think. The lighthouse is still functioning, I think, but is now automated.

LaVonne, striking a pose, which she does so beautifully.

Our last lighthouses were to the north, by Gills Rock and Washington Island. We didn't take the ferry across to Washington Island, but I was able to snap a couple of pictures of the two lighthouses located around the Island.

Hope you enjoyed this quick tour of the lighthouses, these are the first ones I ever experienced in person. I was soo excited to get the chance to see these. I'll leave you with some more pictures of the beauty God created for us.
