Door County Sun

I just thought I would share a few more pictures of my weekend in Door County. With the perfect fall weather we had, we were able to enjoy some beautiful sunsets and sunrises over the lake, something I had never experienced before. To be able to watch the rise and fall of the sun, along with listening to the waves crashing on the shore and the call of the birds, it was simply magical. Here is the first sunset we watched...

This is a close up of the lighthouse ( I love my camera zoom). This is taken from the same spot as in the previous picture, looking at the same peninsula as the last picture, just zoomed in on.

Saturday morning, we all got up early, bundled up, and enjoyed a terrific sunrise. That is the earliest I have willingly woken up in a long time, you could tell we all are night shift workers, it was easy being up that early, especially for something so awe inspiring. Enjoy...

Here are some pictures, that are just close ups of the sun, that I couldn't resist trying to capture.

When I see this, I just think she is taking a walk with God and of the poem you probably have read, Footprints in the Sand.

On a different subject, most of you know that we have been struggling with Becca's reflux issues. She had seen a pediatric GI doc at Mayo a year and a half ago and had been taking her "icky burp medicine" twice a day as needed. Lately she has been complaining of her throat hurting, just below her Adam's apple area. This is too low for it to be a regular sore throat and I have been concerned about it being damage from the reflux. We went back to Mayo to see Dr Grothe today (Tues) and she wants Becca to have an EGD, or basically to put her to sleep and to send a scope down her throat and visualize her esophagus down past her vocal cords and into her stomach. They are going to take a couple of biopsies of the esophagus and hopefully we will know if she has regular reflux or some type of allergic reaction (?), if there is any damage to the esophagus, and what future treatment plan to follow. I am not looking forward to having to keep her stomach empty until after the procedure, having to deal with a tired, cranky little lady all day, and even just having to drive to Rochester twice in two days. I will be very happy when this is over with. I'll try to update tomorrow and let everyone know how the day went and what the EGD shows. Take care all and I promise more pictures coming up of the fun we have had.
