Shopping fun

I just came back from my weekend of shopping in Rochester, whew, I am exhausted! Every year I take a weekend and head out of town to do my Christmas shopping with my mom and my SIL, Christine. We have so much fun, Chris is just a ball of energy and a riot to spend time with. It is hard to keep up with her, she just goes and goes, and we keep laughing and laughing. You know, its funny, we go out of town, and end up shopping at many of the same stores we have locally. We really just have fun walking around, seeing what is out there, and bouncing ideas off of each other. I usually go with a list and keep up with the list while I'm shopping, otherwise I end up forgetting who I bought what for and end up with repeat gifts. I actually got most of my shopping done, except for the major gifts for our own kids, which Rich will help me with.

We left home Fri about 430 and were up there by 6. We walked around the mall for a bit, had supper, and walked around Shopko. We finally gave in and went to our hotel to relax and were sleeping by 1130, way later than we ever have before. On Sat, we were up, done with breakfast, and shopping by 9. We then hit Old Navy, Fleet Farm, Micheals, Target, and back to Old Navy and Shopko. We had supper at a great pizza place next to our hotel and tucked my mom in for the night, by 830. Then Chris and I went back to JCPenny's to pick up something my mom had selected for herself, tried out Big Lots (a store we never explored before) and ended our long day at Toys R Us. Boy, my feet were killing me!! Bedtime was around 11 again, our beds were rock hard, not the most comfortable to sleep on. Today, we just walked around Walmart and finished up the shopping. By 1-ish we were home and back to our families.

I still have stuff to put away, I hope to wrap most of it within the next week and be done, and definately have to hide some things. I don't think I have ever before been done shopping this early, it will be weird if I do really get this all wrapped and completed. The kids were really clingy tonight, I can always tell when I have been gone, even Andrew crawled onto the couch by me and wanted to stay close for the night. We had a nice evening together, I love the cuddle time. Now I just need to get everything ready for school tomorrow, you know me, have to lay out clothes and backpacks, to make my morning go easier. Take care all.

Sounds like you had a fun shopping trip. I'm jealous that you are almost done shopping. I've got a start, but not anywhere near done yet.
